On Tuesday May 11th Stanly Community Christian Ministries and First
Methodist Church--Norwood sponsored the Second Harvest Food Bank for
people who qualified to receive the food in the Stanly Co. area. The
truck was loaded with a great variety of foods. The food was distributed between the hours
of 9:30 and 2 p.m. in the church parking lot. There were many who attended and
received the food. The following volunteers assisted Sarah Lee with this
mission project: Sis Shankle, Don and Rachel Morrison, Anita and
Laura Blair,
Al and Helen Barclay, Margie Pigg, Marcy Autrey, Judy Almomd, and Ann
Lowder. We unloaded the truck and
distributed the food as the people came through the lines. Everything
went very smoothly and everyone's help was greatly appreciated. |
