Assistant Pastor-Bob Cauble

Robert Lynden (Bob) Cauble grew up in Salisbury, N.C. and attended East Rowan High School. After high school Bob served in the US Army and did a one-year tour in Viet Nam.

Bob has been employed as a salesman with J.H. Cook and Son of Granite Quarry, NC for 34 years.

Bob married Jane Cauble in 1979 and they made their home in Norwood. Bob has two children, Angela Abernathy (living in Salisbury) who works as a corrections officer and is attending school for a degree in Criminal Justice, Andrew Cauble who is a fire fighter with Albemarle City Fire Department (living in Norwood) and one grandchild, Lily Marie Abernathy who is 5 years old.

For many years Bob had felt a call to serve God. He served as Lay Leader and Lay Delegate to Annual Conference for the First United Methodist Church, Norwood for more that 20 years and a certified Lay Speaker for about 10 years. There was still a calling to go further into ministry and in 2002 Bob started the Local Pastor program under the mentorship of Rev. Eddie Black. After completing this program of study, Bob became a licensed Local Pastor for the Albemarle District of the United Methodist Church in 2003. He served two years as pastor of Richfield UMC and then was assigned as Assistant Pastor back at Norwood First UMC. Bob is also currently attending the course of study for Local Pastor’s at Duke Divinity School in Durham.

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely that I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
